Holidays

We left North Dakota Friday around noon and finally made it to our son's home for Christmas.  It was a long trip but we passed so many beautiful sights of the seasons.

It feels so good to be down south where the temperatures moderate around 40 degrees, ahh what a blessing.

Looking forward to some quality, extended time with family and friends since we will be taking a month off work.  It will be nice to be able to relax and actually have time for visiting.

Two sad parts to this holiday season-our oldest granddaughter got married this year and they will not be able to get off work and make it home.  Both husband and wife work in a hospital and will have to work Christmas day.  This is the first year she won't be with us for Christmas and we will surely miss them both.

The other sad part is the death of my brother earlier this year.  He will also be missed this year.  We are hoping to have a chance to visit his widow and daughter while we are down south.

Something we are both looking forward to is a visit to New Orleans.  Even though our home is only an hour away, we haven't been there in years.  The plan is to visit the city sometime in January.  Hoping for some beignets and cafe' au lait!!

Hope everyone has a lovely holiday season!
